CONNECTING THE DOTS

Tina joined the Yungskin tribe by coincidence, as she bauled us out at the last minute when we needed someone for a training video.

After spending about ten minutes with her, we realised that there is no such thing as coincidence.
The alignment between our company culture and core values could not have been more alike, and hence after just a few hours with Tina on a Sunday morning we were eager to have her in the Yungskin community.

Tina is an absolute rockstar, this will become very clear as your learn more about her.

Trying to insert a parking ticket at the boom when you have stopped too far away from the machine.

If animals could talk, which would be the rudest?

Ostriches, because they could finally tell us that they are not built to be ridden and want to keep their eggs.

If you were arrested with no explanation, what would your friends and family assume you had done?

Inappropriate yoga poses in public places.

What is the funniest joke you know by heart?

How can you differentiate between a crocodile from an alligator?

THE NATURAL FACT

What’s the biggest lesson life has taught you?

Falling down is part of life. Getting back up is living.

What’s in your handbag right now?

Right now: my wallet, cell phone, a couple lip balms, chewing gums, sun screen, sunglasses,
the book “The subtle Art of not giving a F@*$” by Mark Manson (I never leave home without a
book, you never know who or what might make you wait), a pair of extra socks, lavender
essential oil and my yoga mat spray.
I change my handbag almost daily, so usually I just stuff in what I need for the day.

What snack can you just not get enough of?

Watermelon and chocolate.

What’s your daily skincare routine?

In the morning I wash my face with my Yungskin Face Wash, then I use the toner, then my day
cream and after a few minutes I put on the sun screen.
In the afternoon I might use my toner again (very refreshing especially in summer) and reapply
some sunscreen if needed, or just add some more day cream to the areas around the eyes to
keep those well-nourished. At night I cleanse my face with the face wash, use the toner and
then use the night cream. I also apply an eye and lip serum. I found that the most effective way
to treat break outs is to use natural toothpaste due to its alkaline nature. So on ”bad skin
days” that also forms part of my evening routine.
To round it all up, I drink a lot of water and tea (Rooibos) during the day and use the Yungskin
Food for nourishment from within. Nutrition is a biggie for me as well, I stay away from meat
and most animal products as they are very acidic which can affect the skin negatively. Plus I
make sure I get enough vitamins and minerals in every day.

What’s your favourite Yungskin product?

I absolutely love my toner. It just gives me that wake up effect in the morning and makes my
skin feel and look fresh instantly.

What’s surprising about you?

I ride motocross, I think most people would not expect that of me when they first meet me.

What are you most passionate about and why?

Food – because it surrounds us every single day, we put it in our body, we spend time
preparing it, it can heal us, it can make us sick, it is one of life’s biggest pleasures and some
peoples biggest enemy. I love making, sharing, learning about food and nutrition and want to
spread this love and joy with as many people around me as possible.

What does a day in the life of Tina look like?

On most days I get up as the sun slowly rises. The first thing I do is wash my face, brush my
teeth and then make myself coffee from freshly ground beans. I climb back into bed with my
coffee and my laptop to answer to some emails and do admin. A nutritious breakfast is a must –
oats, fresh fruits, nuts or egg, tomato and avo are some of my favourites. If I don’t have a
modelling job in town, I spend my day on the West Coast. I take my dogs for a walk on the
beach, go for a surf and do some more work on my laptop. Late afternoon I either go and
practise yoga or guide some yogis through their practice myself. I love cooking so when I come
home at night I often spend a good hour in the kitchen making wholesome plant based food
from scratch.
My day comes to an end back in bed with a good book or a movie.
